Alan Chen

Alan Chen has over 30 years of work experience in software engineering and system reliability. Alan currently holds the position of Sr Principal Software Engineer at InfinyOn Inc. since June 2022. Before that, they served as a System Reliability Engineer at TuSimple from May 2021 to June 2022. Prior to their role at TuSimple, Alan worked as a Software Engineer at an undisclosed startup from February 2021 to May 2021.

Between 2013 and 2020, Alan was a Principal Software Architect at Radian Memory Systems, where they specialized in embedded firmware, Linux drivers, and storage stacks. During their tenure, they led a team in developing the industry's first NVMe Zoned Namespace (ZNS) SSD.

From 2008 to 2013, Alan worked as a Sr. Software Engineer at AeroVironment, focusing on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) software development and aircraft control systems programming. Prior to that, they held the position of Software Engineering Manager at ATK from 2003 to 2008, leading simulation-based integration, test, and system analysis efforts.

Earlier in their career, Alan worked as a Software Development Consultant at Digikata LLC from 2001 to 2003, specializing in open-source software integration and customization. Alan was also a Software Developer at Novalogic Systems from 2000 to 2001, where they developed adaptations of Novalogic games for military training. Before that, they served as a Software Engineer at Science and Applied Technologies from 1999 to 2000.

Alan began their career as a Sr Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where they focused on systems engineering with simulations for B-2 and BAT Anti-tank submunition. Alan was involved in controls development, flight test analysis, safety analysis, and performance validation.

Alan Chen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona in 1996.
