Denise Wiedl has over a decade of experience in software engineering. Denise began their career in 2009 as a Lead Analyst at Demand Response Partners, Inc, where they optimized strategies for large industrial companies to manage their monthly energy spend. In 2011, they became the Operations Director (software project manager) at Demand Response Partners, Inc, where they spearheaded the successful development and commercial launch of a grid software product. In 2015, they began working at CompilerWorks as a Software Engineer, developing SQL-agnostic compilers in Java with many interesting IR transformations. Denise was also a Teaching Assistant at Hackbright Academy, helping teach students how to design and develop web apps. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Software Engineer at Lanetix, focusing on “views” of the data in the database and transformation of this data. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Software Engineer at nutmountain.io GmbH, partnered with e-commerce clients to build and maintain native apps and web apps. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Planet, building the beta version of order management. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Verica, and will soon be a Senior Software Engineer at InfluxData.
Denise Wiedl has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neuroscience from Allegheny College and a Master's degree in Biological Sciences and Neuroscience from Columbia University. Denise also attended Hackbright Academy in 2015 for an Immersive Software Engineering Bootcamp.
