Leonardo Rossi

Research Director

Leonardo Rossi is a Senior Researcher at INFN, CERN, and Harvard University, with a scientific career that began in 1974 at CERN's ISR. They have directed significant experiments, including WA82 and WA92, focusing on heavy quark studies and innovative detector technologies. Rossi has played pivotal roles in the ATLAS project as Project Leader of the Pixel Detector and Inner Tracker, and they have been active in publishing research, contributing to scientific committees, and mentoring the next generation of physicists. Currently, they are engaged in research on the High-Luminosity LHC and charged Long Lifetime Particles while continuing their contributions after retirement in 2017.
