Zunaid Kazi

Zunaid Kazi has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1988. Zunaid began their career as a Lecturer at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where they provided IT strategy, planning and design expertise to public and private enterprises. In 1991, they became a Project Lead and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Delaware, leading a five-person team for developing a speech and gesture controlled assistive robot. In 1997, they joined the IBM TJ Watson Research Center as a Research Staff Member, where they innovated a number of algorithms and products related to text-mining, analytics, search, information retrieval and Natural Language Processing. In 2000, they became the Director of Product Management and Technology Strategy at Liaison Technology, where they directed product management for the company's suite of data/content integration products. In 2002, they became the Vice President of Research and Development at Parity Computing, Inc, where they were responsible for strategy, analysis for product planning, architecture, and accountable for execution and delivery. In 2010, they founded Knowtomation, a software and services consulting practice focused on NLP and Text Analytics. Finally, in 2014, they co-founded Infolytx, an AI Software and solutions company focusing on Machine Learning in general and NLP and Machine Vision in particular.

Zunaid Kazi's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of Delaware between 1993 and 1996, a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware between 1990 and 1992, and a BSC in Engg from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1988. Additionally, they have obtained numerous certifications from edX and Coursera, including Re-Imagine Work: Strategies During COVID-19 and Beyond from edX in February 2022, Natural Language Processing with Sequence Models from Coursera in November 2021, Natural Language Processing with Probabilistic Models from Coursera in April 2021, and Text Mining and Analytics from Coursera in January 2017.
