Greg Szabo

Infrastructure and Security Lead at Informal Systems

Greg Szabo has extensive work experience in various roles and companies.

Greg started their career as a Technology Advisor and CTO at Képzelet Hangtára Ltd in 2002.

From 2002 to 2004, they worked as a Deskside Support at Logwin Air+Ocean.

Greg then joined Noerr LLP in 2005 as a System Engineer, System Administrator, and later as an IT Lead. Greg was responsible for creating and maintaining infrastructure, vendor management, and system development. Greg achieved cost savings through negotiating vendor contracts and implementing PBX GSM addition to the local office. Greg successfully managed the relocation of the local office twice.

In 2010, they joined Morgan Stanley as a Windows Production Engineer and later became a Team Lead. Greg improved operational services, worked on software deployment process, and virtualization-related projects.

From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Paymentus Corp as a DevOps Engineer and Senior Technology Analyst. Greg proposed and implemented automated solutions, introduced continuous delivery, and automated Couchbase cluster creation.

Greg then joined Tendermint in 2017 as Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps Engineer. Greg oversaw the reliability and stability of Tendermint's public services and contributed to building the Cosmos Hub.

In 2019, they joined Interchain Foundation as Director of Infrastructure, where they managed infrastructure-related operations.

In 2020, they joined Informal Systems as an Infrastructure and Security Lead. Greg moved the research and development team out of Interchain Foundation and focused on expanding Cephalopod Equipment Corp in partnership with Informal Systems.

Lastly, in 2018, they co-founded Cephalopod Equipment Corp and served as the CEO, focusing on the overall growth and operations of the company.

Throughout their career, Greg has displayed strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a focus on infrastructure, security, and automation.

Greg Szabo obtained their Master's degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In addition to their degree, they also hold various certifications including Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate and Amazon Web Services SysOps Administrator - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Greg is also certified as an Apple Certified Associate - Mac Management Basics 10.10 from Apple and Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician, Windows 7 (MCITP) from Microsoft.
