Erik Henningsmoen

Research & Policy Analyst at Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC)

Erik Henningsmoen has a diverse range of work experiences. Erik currently works as a Research & Policy Analyst at ICTC-CTIC since October 2022. Prior to that, they were a Country Risk Analyst (ECR Expert) at Euromoney Country Risk (ECR) from February 2021 to December 2022.

In 2022, Erik also served as a Deputy Returning Officer at Elections Ontario for a short period from May to June. Previously, they worked as a Research Associate and Research Analyst at Higher Education Strategy Associates from July to October 2021 and from February to June 2021, respectively.

From 2014 to 2021, Erik held various roles at the University of Calgary, including International Programs Strategist from January 2018 to February 2021 and International Projects Advisor from December 2014 to December 2017. In addition, they worked as a Research Assistant at Frontier Centre for Public Policy from September 2014 to April 2015.

Erik gained experience as a Learning Consultant (internship) at New Era Technology from September to December 2014. Prior to that, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, ECMap Project from November 2013 to June 2014.

Earlier in their career, Erik worked as a Fundraiser at Public Outreach Fundraising from March to October 2013. Erik also served as a Research Intern at the National Defense University, Center for Technology and National Security Policy from September to December 2012.

Erik Henningsmoen's education history is as follows:

- From 2015 to 2017, they attended the University of Calgary and obtained a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree with a specialization in International Policy.

- In 2020, they completed the CORe (Credential of Readiness) program at Harvard Business School Online.

- Between 2011 and 2014, they studied at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and earned a Bachelor of Applied Technology (Hons.) degree in Geographic Information Systems.

- In 2012, they participated in the Fall 2012 Academic Program at The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, focusing on International Relations and Affairs.

- From 2007 to 2011, they attended the University of Calgary and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Geography.

- Erik also pursued additional educational opportunities with various summer schools, including the 2019 Summer School at SOAS University of London (studying International Finance and Risk Management), the 2017 Summer School at BI Norwegian Business School (in the field of Intercultural Management and Communication), the 2016 Summer School at Maastricht University (specializing in Country and Political Risk Analysis), and the 2015 Summer School at HEC Paris (focusing on Business and Geopolitics).
