Apurva Bhargava

Apurva Bhargava has held a variety of roles in the data science and machine learning fields since 2018. In 2021, Apurva began working as a Machine Learning/AI Engineer for Informed.IQ. Also in 2021, Apurva worked as a Data Science Intern for International Flavors & Fragrances, where they performed acquisition, cleaning, and integration of logistics data from multiple databases, engineered novel features and built deep learning and graph-ML models in Python for logistics optimization, and forecasted requirements and unit prices for over 10,000 materials from 120+ plants using deep time series models. In 2020, Apurva worked as an Assistant Research Scientist and Graduate Research Assistant at New York University, where they harmonized and combined gameplay and participant survey data from 7 different behavioral studies, studied the effectiveness of PES (Payments for Ecosystem Services), and predicted agricultural and environmental outcomes using ensemble models. Apurva was also an Adjunct Instructor, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Researcher at the NYU Center for Data Science in 2020. In 2019, Apurva worked as a Data Science Intern for Celeste Online Solutions Pvt. Ltd., where they built a face pose classifier in Spark MLlib, detected phishing URLs and malware domains using character-level LSTM networks, and collected clients' website usage statistics. In 2018, Apurva worked as a Research Intern in Machine Learning at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, where they assisted with data preparation, model evaluation, and research paper summarization, worked independently on single and multi channel static convolutional neural network models and input embeddings for multi-class text categorization and clustering, and used datasets such as AG's News, TREC questions, and 20newsgroups.

Apurva Bhargava has an extensive educational background. Apurva completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra from 2015 to 2019. Apurva then went on to earn a Master of Science in Data Science from New York University from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, Apurva attended Sophia Senior Secondary School in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. Additionally, Apurva has obtained numerous certifications from Coursera, EICT Academy MNIT Jaipur, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), TechieNest, and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. These include certifications in Sequences, Time Series and Prediction, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Hadoop Platform and Application Framework, Deep Learning, Introduction to Big Data, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, College Representative at Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) Youth Conclave, (IoT) Spybotix Workshop, Android Development Workshop, and Ethical Hacking Workshop.
