Alison Baptiste

Alison Baptiste has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Alison began their career at Black & Veatch in 1990, where they worked as a Chartered Engineer, focusing on the design and constitution of water treatment works and hydraulic river modeling. In 1996, they joined the Environment Agency, where they held various roles, including Flood & Coastal Risk Manager, Regional Flood & Coastal Executive Manager, Excellence in FCRM Programme Executive, National Learning & Recovery Manager, Deputy Director Strategy Development, and Director Strategy & Investment. Alison played a key role in managing flood and coastal risk in England, leading the climate change, environment, and Flood & Water Management Act implementation team. Alison was also instrumental in securing £270 million in funding for flood and coastal risk repairs. In 2006, they served as a Non-Executive Director at Redcar Racecourse Ltd. In 2018, they joined the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) as Director of Operations, and later became the Director of Project Delivery - Public & Security Services in 2020. Alison Baptiste's expertise lies in project delivery, strategy development, risk management, and government relations.

Alison Baptiste holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham, which they obtained in 1987. In 1990, they completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Irrigation Engineering from the University of Southampton. Alison also attended the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2016-2017, where they pursued the Major Projects Leadership Academy.
