Vice President, Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program at Infrastructure Ontario

Michael Leong has a diverse work experience spanning a variety of roles and industries. Michael began their career at Chase in 1994 as a Supervisor in Global Risk Management. Michael then moved to Maybank in 1995 where they worked as an Executive in Corporate & Investment Banking. From 1999 to 2001, Michael worked at OCBC Bank as an Assistant Manager in Special Assets Management. In 2002, they joined Bank of Montreal as a Customer Service Officer and later became a Portfolio Manager in Commercial Banking from 2003 to 2006. Michael then transitioned to CIBC in 2006 where they held various roles, including Senior Manager in Internal Audit and Director of Regional Credit Ontario. Presently, they are employed at Infrastructure Ontario as the Vice President of the Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program, a position they have held since 2014. In this role, they lead the loan origination team, oversees loan operations, and manages and restructures loans in difficulty.

Michael Leong attended the Anglo-Chinese School in Singapore from 1982 to 1985, where they completed their GCE O-Levels. Michael then attended Dunearn Pre-University in Singapore from 1986 to 1988, where they obtained their GCE A-Levels. Later, from 1989 to 1993, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
