Folkert van der Ploeg

Folkert van der Ploeg is an experienced executive in the finance and mortgage sectors, currently serving as Managing Director for ING’s Mortgage business in the Netherlands since February 2022, overseeing a portfolio of €115 billion assets and 650,000 customers. Prior roles include Chief Data & Innovation Officer at Aegon Nederland, where responsibilities encompassed data analytics, innovation, and business development. Folkert has held various leadership positions throughout a 19-year tenure at Aegon, focusing on pricing, finance, and management control. Additionally, in governance, Folkert is engaged as Chairman and member of the Supervisory Boards for Psychiatrie Noord, and LTP Business Psychologen, alongside advising start-ups and mentoring scale-ups. Folkert holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Groningen and an Executive Master's degree in Finance and Control from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, complemented by studies at notable institutions such as Singularity University and IMD.
