Akane Kodani

Akane Kodani has extensive work experience in design and art direction. Akane has worked as the Head of Design at Ingenovis Health and Stella.ai, where they led product design teams and emphasized the importance of human-centered design. Prior to that, they worked as a Design Director at Vroom, where they managed a design team and collaborated with various stakeholders to create exceptional products. Akane also has experience as a Digital Art Director at Condé Nast, where they created digital products for brands such as Teen Vogue and Vogue VIP. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Visual Designer at R/GA and a Graphic Designer at Hampshire Brands. Akane also worked on independent projects as a Freelance Design Director. Akane has a background in jewelry design and was the sole proprietor of their own jewelry brand, a-dorn new york.

Akane Kodani has a diverse education history. Akane obtained an AAS degree in Communication Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2002. In 2012, they pursued a short-term program in Metal and Jewelry Arts at the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and earned an Accredited Jewelry Professional certificate. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate education at Ryukoku University, graduating with a BA degree in History in 2000. Additionally, they briefly participated in an exchange scholarship program at California State University, Northridge in 1998 for their interest in Art. In terms of certifications, they attended General Assembly for UX design and became a Certified ScrumMaster through Scrum Alliance. Lastly, they are currently pursuing a certification in UX Management: Strategy and Tactics from The Interaction Design Foundation, which they are expected to obtain in 2023.
