Frewini Haile has a diverse range of work experience. Frewini began their career as a Music Editor at CLE Magazine in 2010, where they were responsible for overseeing the layout and content of feature articles and managing a team of staff writers and freelancers in the music department. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Career Center Peer Mentor at St. John's University, helping students with resume editing, internship search, and interview preparation.
In 2013, Haile held various positions, including serving as an Administrative Assistant at Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, P.C., where they managed filing and data entry for architectural projects, provided administrative support, and handled phone calls. Frewini also worked as a Social Media Manager at CLE Magazine during the first half of 2013, developing and implementing social media strategies for brand promotion, coordinating with editors, and managing social media campaigns.
During the second half of 2013, Haile worked as a Social Media and Outreach Coordinator at Discovering East Africa, where they were responsible for recruiting teen volunteers for a summer service trip through social media outreach and engagement with local community organizations.
In 2014, Haile joined Teach For America as a Corps Member. In this role, they taught in low-income urban and rural public schools in Memphis, Tennessee, and worked towards eliminating educational inequity. Simultaneously, from 2014 to 2017, they served as a 1st Grade Teacher at Keystone Elementary School and Ford Road Elementary School in Shelby County Schools. During this time, Haile created a flexible and personalized learning environment and developed lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
In 2017, Haile joined Ingenuity Prep as a Class Lead/Teacher for 1st grade, where they worked with a three-person classroom team to create an efficient and student-centered classroom. Frewini implemented Cognitively Guided Instruction and the Eureka math curriculum, used assessment data to differentiate instruction, and collaborated with colleagues in professional development. Additionally, in the same year, they became an Advisory Board Member at PBS Teachers Advisory Group.
Prior to their teaching career, Haile worked as a Staffing Specialist at ManpowerGroup from 2013 to 2014, where they recruited, interviewed, and tested applicants and provided training and orientation to temporary employees.
Overall, Haile has shown a commitment to education, utilizing their expertise in teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship to make a positive impact on students' lives. Frewini has also gained experience in various administrative and social media roles, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.
Frewini Haile completed their education as follows: Frewini attended Montgomery High School from 2005 to 2009. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from St. John's University from 2009 to 2013. In August 2014, Frewini obtained a Transitional Teaching License from the Tennessee Department of Education. Frewini furthered their education by earning a Master's Degree in Educational Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, where they studied from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, in January 2014, Frewini Haile obtained a certification in OralTox Screening from Premier Biotech.
