Jerry Taplin has had a long and varied career in the business world. Jerry began their career in 1979 as a Sales Representative for Roland Corporation USA. In 1990, they became the Owner of TAP Marketing, Inc. In 1993, they took on the role of SE Asian Salesperson for Music Industries, Inc., where they set up a network of SE Asian customers and distributors. In 1999, they became the Owner of Miner's Mural Apartments and Retail - Northwoods Cabin, Downtown Antiques, Helping Hands Furniture. In 2019, they became the Owner of Art and Hazel's Museum Antiques, as well as the Business Development for INHALE HEALTH.

Jerry Taplin began their education journey in 1968 when they attended Cypress College and obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Journalism and Business. Jerry then transferred to Cal State Fullerton, College of Business and Economics, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services in 1973. In 1975, they returned to Cal State Fullerton and obtained a California Teaching Credential in Business Teacher Education in 1976. Finally, in 2015, they obtained a California Teachers Life Credential from Anaheim, California.
