Michael Els

Michael Els, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of data science. Michael is currently serving as an Advisory Board Member at REACH since August 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of SVP Data Science at InMarket from October 2021. From November 2019 to October 2021, they worked as SVP Data Science at Aidentified LLC and as a Partner at Position A Partners. Michael also worked as a Director of Data Science at Meta - Unified Search from September 2015 to April 2016. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at MaxPoint, including Principal Data Scientist, Manager/Data Scientist, and Data Scientist. Michael also worked as an Analytics Intern at MaxPoint in 2010.

Michael Els, PhD, has an extensive education history. In 2016, they started their doctoral studies in Business Administration at Harvard Business School, which they completed in 2019, earning their PhD. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, Michael pursued their M.A. degree in Economics at Duke University. In 2008, they also obtained an Honours degree in Economics from Stellenbosch University. Michael's education journey began in 2004 at Stellenbosch University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Mathematical Statistics and Economics, which they completed in 2007.
