Lisa Finegan has a diverse work experience in the education field. Lisa began their career as an Animatrice at the Euro Languages College in Ireland, where they facilitated a French residential summer course. Lisa then worked as a Senior Teacher of English at Haileybury Boarding School in Hertfordshire, focusing on delivering high-quality teaching. Lisa later became the Department Head for AS & A Levels at Guernsey Grammar School, where they were responsible for leading the department and ensuring academic progress. Lisa then moved on to Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich in London, where they worked as a Secondary School Educator. Currently, Lisa is an Academic Leadership I Director at ICEF Public Schools in South Los Angeles, where they provide educational leadership and oversees various aspects of the school's operation.
Lisa Finegan completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Sport and Exercise Science with a specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology from St Mary's University, Twickenham. Lisa attended the university from 2006 to 2009. Lisa continued their education at Brunel University London, where they pursued a PGCert Secondary Education (MA Education) degree. This program took place during the academic year of 2010 and 2011.

ICEF was one of the first charter school management organizations to open in Los Angeles, and quickly became a leader in raising the achievement levels of African-American and Latino/Hispanic students in the State of California.
