Shelby Pealer has extensive experience in the field of education, particularly in special education and student services. Shelby began their career as an Operations Coordinator at Teach For America, where they organized workshops and built relationships with Corps Members. Shelby then became a Corps Member, leading professional development sessions and being recognized for their teaching excellence. After Teach For America, Shelby worked as a K-5 Special Education Teacher and Instructional Coach at Catalyst Charter - Maria ES, where they provided coaching and designed professional development sessions. Shelby then joined Spectrum Center Schools and Programs as a Curriculum & Instruction Specialist, coaching teachers and developing instructional plans for students with disabilities. Shelby's most recent roles include Director of Special Education at ICEF Public Schools, where they oversaw special education programs and implemented crisis monitoring systems, and Vice President of Strategy at the same organization. Throughout their career, Shelby has demonstrated leadership, expertise in special education, and a commitment to student success.

Shelby Pealer (She/Her) earned their Bachelor's degree in Special Education (PK-8) and Early Childhood Education (PK-4) from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in the years 2010-2014. Shelby then pursued their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Special Education with an Endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis from Michigan State University from 2015-2018. Additionally, Shelby obtained various certifications, including Early Childhood Education (Self Contained General Education) from the Illinois State Board of Education in August 2014, Learning Behavior Specialist I from the same institution in August 2014, and Instructional I Special Education from the Pennsylvania Board of Education in June 2014. Shelby also obtained an Instructional I certification for PreKindergarten through Grade 4 from the Pennsylvania Board of Education in June 2014, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the California Board of Education in August 2017, and an Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Level I from the same institution in August 2017.
