Carlos Alvarez-Iglesias

Carlos Alvarez-Iglesias has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Carlos began their career as the Founder & Managing Director of Knowledge Investors in 2005, where they focused on investing in early stage deep-tech startups. In 2013, they joined KIMbcn Foundation as the Marketing Director. Carlos later became the Co-founder and Member of the Board at Innitius in 2018. Carlos also served as a Non Executive Director at Monet tecnología e innovación SL starting from 2014 and at Software for Science Developments from 2013. Carlos holds the position of Member of the Board at MiWEndo Solutions, a company developing a medical device for colorectal cancer detection. Additionally, they are the Non Executive Director at Clever Solar Devices, a disruptive company in photovoltaic solar energy solutions. Carlos also worked as a Board Advisor at HubIN.es and currently serves as a Startup Mentor at Conector Startup Accelerator. Lastly, Carlos is the Co-founder of Onira Research since 2019.

Carlos Alvarez-Iglesias received their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University between 1991 and 1993. Carlos then pursued a Master's degree in European Studies from Universidad Pontificia Comillas from 1993 to 1994. In 1998 to 2000, Carlos obtained a Master's degree in Market Research & Marketing Strategy from Sciences Po. Carlos also attended The American University of Paris in 1991 and Saint Louis University in 1989 to 1990, but no specific degrees or fields of study are mentioned for these institutions.

In terms of additional certifications, Carlos obtained the LES100 Introduction to Licensing certification from Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) in March 2023. Carlos also completed the Research Commercialization Introductory Course from the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer in December 2013. Additionally, Carlos obtained a certification in How to Build a Startup from Udacity in February 2013.
