Andreas Sumper

Andreas Sumper serves as the Vice-Rector for International Affairs and a Full Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where contributions include shaping the institution’s global vision, leading research at CITCEA-UPC, and fostering international partnerships. Additionally, Andreas holds the position of Head of Endesa Red Chair, collaborating with ENDESA on energy innovation. Current roles also encompass Coordinator of the MSCA IDEAL4GREEN project, ICREA Academia Holder, and Editor in Chief for the journal Electricity. Previously, Andreas directed the Enertrónica Master Program, led the Power System Group at IREC, co-founded CINERGIA, and managed projects in technology transfer and automation. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Electricity from UPC and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering from Technische Universität Graz.
