Sunao Munakata has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. In 1998, they started their career at Fujitsu as a Junior Marketing Manager, where they conducted market research and successfully launched a server product in the USA. Sunao also worked as a Planner, developing and executing an exit strategy from the U.S. mainframe market, resulting in significant cost savings.
Moving on to Rakuten, Inc in 2008, Sunao held the role of Manager of Business Development. Sunao contributed to the company's success as the number one e-commerce company in Japan.
In 2009, Sunao joined NexPAS, Inc as a Senior Vice President, Business Development and Alliance. Sunao was responsible for finding new business opportunities, analyzing technology and trends in social media and e-commerce worldwide. NexPAS was a strategic joint venture invested by Mitsubishi Corp.
In 2011, Sunao founded Innova Inc., a fast-growing startup focusing on content marketing. As the Founder and CEO, they led a team of 70 employees and aimed to take the company public in the near future. Innova provides marketing automation software and cloud-based content creating services.
Throughout their career, Sunao has demonstrated strong strategic planning and business development skills, consistently contributing to the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.
Sunao Munakata obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, General from The University of Tokyo from 1994 to 1998. Later, from 2004 to 2006, Sunao pursued an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 2016, Sunao obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates.
