Barbara Rowdon

Fisheries Biologist at Innovasea

Barbara Rowdon has extensive experience in the field of fisheries biology. Barbara began their career in 2001 as a Biological Science Technician with the National Park Service, where they supervised and trained field crews in gill netting operations on Yellowstone Lake. Barbara also operated boats and used navigation equipment to locate lake trout habitat and conduct population estimates.

In 2005, Barbara joined the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Biological Science Technician. Here, they supervised the transport of threatened and endangered species over seven dams in southeastern Washington, monitoring fish condition and behavior. Barbara also collected data on water parameters and performed maintenance tasks.

Since 2006, Barbara has been working at Innovasea, formerly known as HTI-Vemco and Hydroacoustic Technology, Inc. Here, they plan, deploys, and tests hydroacoustic and acoustic tag systems for studying fish behavior, abundance, distributions, and bypass effectiveness. Barbara'swork includes evaluations for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission relicensing of hydroelectric projects, adult salmon escapement in rivers, juvenile bypass and deterrent effectiveness, and mobile acoustic tag surveys.

Barbara Rowdon pursued their higher education from 1994 to 1998 at Penn State University. During this time, they successfully completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science.
