Joanne Nowak, PhD has a diverse background in academia and social innovation. Currently serving as a Senior Innovation Manager at Innovate Calgary, Joanne leads programming to help individuals scale their ideas for system-level change. Prior to this, Joanne was an Associate Director at the Blum Center on Poverty, Inequality, and Democracy, where Joanne managed various tasks such as program management, budgeting, and outreach. With a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto, Joanne also has experience as a Lecturer at the University of California Santa Barbara and roles at Global Affairs Canada as an Evaluation Officer and Policy Analyst.
