Stephanie Cargile

Stephanie is the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Public and Government Affairs Manager. She is a graduate of LSU where she received her master’s degree in Mass Communications in 1998. As a graduate of LSU’s Manship School, Stephanie first worked in public relations at Catholic High School in 1993 and then began her career with ExxonMobil in 1999. Since then, she has worked in a variety of public affairs roles during her time with the company. In her current position, she leads a team that oversees governmental, media, community and neighbor relations, corporate charitable giving, communications activities, crisis communications and issue management.

In 2019, Stephanie and her Baton Rouge team were recognized with an ExxonMobil Public Affairs Global Excellence award. Throughout her career at ExxonMobil, she has also been recognized with two national Responsible Care® awards for outreach projects and a national Telly Award for a local ad campaign.

As a native of Baton Rouge, Stephanie is committed to giving back to the community both in the non-profit and professional arenas. Currently she serves on the board of directors for the Public Affairs Research Council, the LA Research Park Corporation, the City Club of Baton Rouge and New Schools for Baton Rouge. She is the secretary of the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District and the secretary of the Catholic High School Mother’s Club. She is on the Louisiana Chemical Association communications committee, the Capital Area United Way Marketing Committee, and was elected Most Valuable Player for her contributions in 2014 and 2016.

Stephanie has chaired the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association Communications Committee, the LSU Manship Hall of Fame Committee and served on the HOPE Ministries, St. Joseph’s Academy, and LSU Manship School Alumni boards of directors.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has also consulted for the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana, Coca Cola Distribution and Bottling Company and the Iowa Scholastic Press Association. She has also freelanced for the Baton Rouge Business Report, In Register Magazine, Parents Magazine and Corridor 1012 Magazine.
