Larry Alvino has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Larry started their career at RR Donnelley in 1981 as a Systems Engineer I and II, developing pre-press systems and designing software. Larry later became a Senior Engineer, engaged in projects to develop real-time and embedded systems for new pre-press systems. In 1990, they became a Member of Technical Staff III, where they designed and implemented an offset printing imposition system, reducing film usage and shortening cycle time to press. From 1993 to 2001, Larry served as a Member of Technical Staff IV at RR Donnelley, where they developed new technologies, improved efficiency, and implemented a web-based client-server materials quality control database application, saving $25,000,000 per year in ink costs.
In 2002, Larry joined RR Donnelley as a Senior Application Developer - Manufacturing Systems, developing data collection systems for printing presses. Larry also provided support to plant production personnel and management. Larry then joined Federal Signal Corporation - AeroTek Engineering in 2015 as a Contract Senior Software Engineer, where they developed a software application for a public address and alarm system, analyzed system specifications, and created a design specification.
In 2016, Larry moved to Arrowhead Conveyor Corporation - Industrial Automation as a Senior Software Engineer. Larry designed and implemented embedded hardware and software systems for conveyor control, automated communication between PLC and product database, and enabled engineers to send product recipe information to PLC from MS Excel spreadsheet, saving manual entry and increasing accuracy.
Most recently, Larry has been working as a Senior Software Engineer at Innovative Management Concepts, Inc. since 2018.
Larry Alvino has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, which they completed in 1981. Larry also holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from DePaul University, which they obtained in 1992.
