Swapan Sanjanwala

Swapan was born and raised in Mumbai, India. As a child, he was naturally drawn to engineering but had an eclectic set of interests—from economics and finance to philosophy and history. He studied mechanical engineering at university, then in 1999, followed his passion for numbers and computers all the way to America. After finishing his master's degree in computational mechanics, he joined the workforce as an engineer at Abaqus - now part of Dassault Systemes Simulia. He gained recognition and respect for his expertise in developing and democratizing complex simulation methodologies.

In 2013, he took a leap of faith to leave his corporate job and created his own consulting firm, Innovative Numerics, focussed on applying simulation expertise to the industry. Innovative Numerics has now consulted for some of the largest consumer product, tech, and biomedical companies, helping them solve some of their toughest problems. But his vision for Innovative Numerics and the horizons of possibility for the company are much bigger than consulting for a few big-name companies.

Swapan is also a successful technology investor. He is motivated to support kindred entrepreneurs - people whose passions and problems he shared just years ago - through angel investing. This was the vision that would become Dark Horse Venture Holdings. Innovative Numerics is now the professional services arm for Dark Horse Venture Holdings (DHVH).

Swapan is looking forward to steering Innovative Numerics in its next exciting phase of growth with a pivot from consulting to a startup accelerator and technology partner in the areas of Simulation, AI, and Cloud computing.
