John Green's work experience begins in 1985 when they joined Kimberly-Clark Corporation as a Project Engineer. During their time there, they worked as the sole electrical engineer for all capital projects in both the Rolled Products Department and Folded Products Department until 1989. From 1989 to 2005, Green worked as a Senior Project Engineer at Augusta Newpsrint Co. In 2007, they joined Advantage Development Co. as the Chief Operating Officer and Construction, Sales & Marketing Team Leader, a position they held until 2013. In 2010, Green became the Owner and Broker of Green Mountain Realty until 2013. Since 2011, Green has served as the CEO and co-founder of Innovative Solar Systems, LLC, where they focus on developing utility-scale solar farm projects in the United States.
John Green attended the University of South Carolina from 1980 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
