Robert S. West

Mr. West is a seasoned health care administrator with over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in both the hospital and physician practice settings. He is Board Certified in Health Care Management and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. Mr. West holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. He has expertise in physician/hospital relations, health care financial management, strategic planning, and service line development. Mr. West is the Chief Executive Officer of Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates of Baltimore, the largest private specialty practice of its kind in the country. Mr. West oversees all business activities of the organization and manages contractual relations with 10 hospitals, where 43 private practice physicians manage nationally recognized intensive care units. Mr. West developed an interventional pulmonology service line and clinical research department within the company and partnering hospitals. He is a consultant for multiple physician practices and hospitals on issues of strategic planning, physician/hospital contracts, and entrepreneurial endeavors. In previous positions, Mr. West developed nationally recognized clinical programs and JCAHO certified disease-based clinical services aligning hospital administration, employed physicians, and private physician practices. He has worked as a service line director as well as an operating room manager at major community hospitals in Maryland. Mr. West has managed one of the largest trauma databases in the world and coordinated retrospective research activities and clinical outcomes reporting. He has been published as a lead author and supporting investigator in many peer-review journals.
