Jelani McCoy is an experienced data engineer and analyst, having worked in the field since 2013. In 2021, they began working as a Data Engineer at Innovu, where they are proficient in SQL to query relational databases when ingesting data, uses Pentahoe Kettle to build/maintain ETL pipelines, and effectively uses the CI/CD development cycle to update/create ETL pipelines to be prepared for the release timeline.
From 2019-2021, McCoy worked at Mount Nittany Health as a Data Developer and Decision Support Analyst. As a Data Developer, they were responsible for assisting with the architecture and design of enterprise data warehouse processes, including migration of existing data warehouse data/schema/processes to a new data warehouse architecture into DataBricks and Tableau Prep. As a Decision Support Analyst, they created and designed reports and dashboards using data collected through Meditech and other EHR systems inside of SAP Business Objects.
In 2019, McCoy held an Information Technology Internship at Mount Nittany Medical Center, where they assisted with the new Meditech EHR application and provided clerical and data entry assistance.
From 2018-2017, McCoy held positions as an Auto Detailer at Mercedes Benz of State College and a Shift Lead at Insomnia Cookies. In 2016, they worked as an Asset Protection Associate at Sears Holdings Corporation, and in 2015, they were a Line Cook at McDonald's Corporation. In 2013, they began their career as a Cashier at Bottom Dollar Food - Delhaize America.
Jelani McCoy received their High School Diploma from Abington Senior High School in 2015. Jelani then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Information Science and Technology with a focus on Intergration and Application from Penn State University in 2019. McCoy also holds certifications from FEMA in ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800, obtained in July 2022. Additionally, they hold certifications from The Pro Board in Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness and Operations Level, Vehicle Technical Rescuer Technician Level, Firefighter II, Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials Core Operations Level, Hazardous Materials Operations Level with Product Control Competency, and Hazardous Materials at the Operations Level with Personal Protective Equipment, obtained in June 2022, April 2016, December 2015, and August 2015 respectively. McCoy also holds certifications from the American Safety and Health Institute in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) CPR & AED, obtained in November 2021, and from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in Heartsaver First Aid, obtained in August 2021.
