James Nettleton

James Nettleton has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. James has held various leadership positions in different companies.

From 2011 to 2014, James worked as a Senior Consultant at BDO UK LLP. After that, they joined U+I (U and I Group PLC) in 2014 and served as the Director of the flexible workspace and prototyping labs business unit. During their tenure, they successfully launched and managed a new subsidiary called Plus X, which focuses on startup workspace, prototyping labs, and accelerator programs.

In 2016, James became a Principal and founding team member at InMotion Ventures, a venture capital fund supported by Jaguar Land Rover. James played a crucial role in sourcing and leading investments in sustainable transport technology companies.

In 2019, James joined Downing Ventures as a Principal (Venture Capital), where they focused on investments in transport and automotive technology. James also held board seats in their portfolio companies.

In 2020, James moved to Octopus Electric Vehicles as the Director of Strategic Finance. As part of the senior leadership team, they were responsible for all aspects of finance, funding, business planning, and credit risk. Under their guidance, the company experienced significant growth, increasing its annual recurring revenue from £0 to approximately £100 million and expanding its employee count from 15 to 250 within three years.

Currently, James works at inov-8 as the New Business Director. James is leading the roll out of brand stores and driving sustainability initiatives within the company.

James Nettleton attended the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2011, where they earned a BA (Hons) degree in Modern History and Politics.
