Colin Evans

Colin Evans has extensive work experience in the field of engineering. Colin is currently working as a Product Engineer at Inovus Medical since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at CEDesign Services as a Design Consultant, providing services to Mechanical Engineering Departments for design and development projects.

Colin also worked at Solid Applications Limited - SOLIDWORKS Reseller for a significant period of time. Colin held various roles including Senior Application Consultant, Elite Applications Engineer, Applications Engineer, and Business Development Engineer. Their tenure at Solid Applications Limited lasted from January 2005 to September 2022.

In 2017, Colin joined Smiths Detection as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Product and Development team. Their responsibilities included generating innovative and cost-effective mechanical design solutions during new product development and providing support. Colin worked at Smiths Detection until February 2020.

Earlier in their career, Colin worked as a Technical Consultant at TESOL Ltd in 2004, and as a Design Engineer at Hattersley Newman Hender from 1995 to 2004. Colin started their professional journey as a Technical Apprentice at Gullick Dobson Ltd in 1986 and later became a Design Engineer at the same company from 1993 to 1995.

Colin Evans started their education in 1999 by attending High School, where they obtained a degree in Elite AE with a focus on Software Development. During the same period, from 1999 to 2000, they also attended Wigan College, studying Business Information Technology.

Apart from their formal education, Colin has obtained various certifications and additional qualifications throughout their career. These include certifications such as 3DEXPERIENCE - Collaborative Business Innovator, 3DEXPERIENCE 3D Creator, and 3DEXPERIENCE 3D Sculptor, all obtained from Dassault Systèmes in April 2020. Colin has also achieved certifications from SolidWorks Authorized Training Centre, including CSWI-S Certified SOLIDWORKS Instructor -Simulation (October 2016), Certified SolidWorks Presentation Professional (June 2014), and Certified Enterprise PDM Administrator (September 2013), among others. Colin has further obtained certifications in TRIZ, a theory related to invention tasks, from IMechE Engineering Training Solutions - NDT & ICorr in March 2018.
