Robert van Tankeren's work experience includes positions at multiple companies in various roles.
From 2020 to the present, they have served as the CEO of inPhocal, a company that is developing a new laser marking technology for coding processes in industrial production lines.
At TMC, they held multiple roles over the years. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as an Account Manager and Senior Account Manager. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Director of TMC Physics and TMC Nanotechnology, responsible for managing the Physics domain and launching the new Nanotechnology domain. From 2014 to 2017, they served as the Director of TMC Physics, overseeing over 30 professionals working on high-tech R&D projects. From 2017 to 2018, they took on the role of Director of TMC Data Science, leading a team of over 80 professionals with backgrounds in physics, mathematics, and/or data science. In 2019, they became the Director of TMC Nanotechnology, supporting clients in nanotechnology R&D challenges.
Prior to their time at TMC, Robert worked as a Software Engineer and Senior Programmer at Topic Embedded Systems from 2005 to 2007. Robert also served as a Product Engineer at Twente Solid State Technology from 2001 to 2004.
Robert van Tankeren obtained their high school education at Marianum from 1989 to 1995. After completing high school, they attended Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 1997 to 2001, where they pursued a bachelor's degree in Physics. Robert later furthered their education at the University of Twente from 1995 to 2005, earning a master's degree (Msc) in Physics.
