Matthew de la Hey

Matthew de la Hey has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Matthew is currently a Co-Founder & CEO at inploi since July 2015. In addition, they are a Council Member at the Council for Inclusive Capitalism starting from July 2022. Matthew also serves as an Editor at OZYMANDEUS, a community journal publishing platform, since May 2020. Matthew is a Member of Founders of the Future, which aims to accelerate young talent in tech entrepreneurship since June 2017. Matthew has served as an Advisor at Tuse, an Android app for creating wireless mesh networks, from December 2015 to August 2021. Matthew has also held various roles such as Finance Director at Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance from July 2016 to March 2017, MBA Intern at Silverstreet Capital Llp in July 2015, Co-Founder at InkuluFreeHeid in South Africa from July 2011 to January 2015, and Summer Intern at Finisterre Capital in September 2014. Additionally, Matthew was a Co-organiser of TEDxStellenbosch, a TEDx Conference for promoting African ideas, from an unspecified date in 2011 to 2012.

Matthew de la Hey completed their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Accounting Honours degrees from Stellenbosch University, which they earned between 2009 and 2012. Before that, they attended Hilton College from 2004 to 2008.

Afterward, they pursued an MSc in African Studies at the University of Oxford from 2013 to 2014, specializing in social sciences. Following that, they attended Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) between 2014 and 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Matthew de la Hey obtained certifications outside of academia. Matthew completed the Startup School program at Y Combinator in September 2019, and in January 2013, they obtained the ITC (Board 1) certification from SAICA CA(SA).
