Pooya Farshim

Pooya Farshim is a distinguished academic in the field of cryptography, currently serving as a Research Fellow at Input Output (IOHK) since July 2022 and as an Associate Professor at Durham University from November 2021. At Durham University, responsibilities include leading research on cryptography, managing an EPSRC research grant related to password hashing, supervising PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, and developing undergraduate curricula in cryptography and information security. Previously, Pooya held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of York and worked as a Cryptography Researcher at Ecole normale supérieure, focusing on topics such as authenticated encryption and program obfuscation. Additionally, Pooya was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Technische Universität Darmstadt, where research included foundational aspects of cryptography and homomorphic encryption. Academic credentials include a BA and MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Cryptography from the University of Bristol.
