Gans Sobey

Gans Sobey is currently the Digital Editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Prior to this, they worked as a Statehouse Correspondent for the Lowell Sun, an Editorial Intern for the Parramatta Advertiser, and a Monday night Metro Editor for the Boston Globe Media. Sobey has also worked as a Digital Producer/Reporter for both K-12 Education and Cannabis at Boston Globe Media.

Sobey began their career in journalism as a Statehouse Correspondent for the Lowell Sun. Through Boston University's Statehouse Program, Sobey was based in Boston and produced 2-4 stories per week on goings-on in the state Legislature and other news and events that affected the Lowell community. In addition to their work with the Lowell Sun, Sobey also produced stories for its sister paper, the Sentinel & Enterprise.

During their time as a Statehouse Correspondent, Sobey forged relationships with at least 20 state legislators, worked out of the Statehouse in Boston, and extensively covered the state's four ballot questions and the aftermath of the election's results.

Gans Sobey's educational career includes a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Boston University.
