Katherine Knott

Katherine Knott is an experienced journalist with a focus on education reporting. Currently serving as News Editor at Inside Higher Ed since August 2022, Katherine oversees news coverage and previously reported on federal higher education policy for a national audience. Prior roles include K-12 Education Reporter at The Daily Progress, covering Charlottesville and Albemarle school districts, and Education Reporter for The News Enterprise, focusing on Hardin County and Elizabethtown school districts. Katherine has also held internships with The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Kansas City Star, and developed editorial leadership skills as Managing Editor at The Maneater. Katherine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a concentration in Magazine Writing from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
