Nicole Hegarty

Nicole Hegarty is an experienced Federal Political Reporter and Producer at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) since June 2016, with a background that includes serving as a Political Reporter and Producer for RN Drive and Q+A. Nicole has held various reporting roles across multiple ABC regions, including Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast, and has worked in Queensland Parliament on secondment. Notably, Nicole coordinated the 2017 Queensland State election coverage, developing and overseeing in-studio electorate forums. Previous experience includes internships at WIN Television and APN Australian Regional Media, as well as a political reporting role with UniPollWatch. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of the Sunshine Coast and multiple certifications in justice administration, business, and volunteering.
