Lu Linares is an emerging festival programmer and arts administrator with a focus on 2SLGBTQ+ stories and representation in film. They served as a RISE Mentor at Apathy is Boring, expanding the program's outreach to 2SLGBTQ+ youth, and have been a Festival Programmer at JAYU since 2021. Currently, Lu is a Film Programmer at the Urbanworld Foundation, driving initiatives to elevate multicultural voices in cinema. They have also contributed to various film festivals, including curating shorts for the Toronto Queer Film Festival and serving as an Associate Programmer for the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. Lu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from Humber College.
