Jason van der Watt

Jason van der Watt is the Executive Head of Group Secretariat at InsideData. Jason has over 10 years of experience working in the legal field. Jason started their career as a Legal Assistant at Revelation Risk Management, where they assisted with legal research, drafting, and formation of trusts, FSP registrations, SARS registrations, company registrations, and wills. Jason then worked as an Instructor at Spirit of Adventure for a year before becoming a Candidate Attorney at AJ Scholtz Attorneys. At InsideData, Jason has held various positions including Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Chief Risk Officer, and Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer. In their current role as Group Sectretariat, they are responsible for driving legal, risk, audit, and compliance strategies across the InsideData Group.

Jason van der Watt has a University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika Bachelor of Laws (LLB), which they are currently completing while working full time. Jason also has a University of the Witwatersrand Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Business Administration and Management, General, and Law. Jason is also an attorney with the Legal Practice Council South Africa.
