Harshil Kamdar is a highly accomplished scientist currently serving as a Lead Senior Scientist at Insight M since November 2021 and as a Salata Fellow at The Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability at Harvard University since September 2024. With a robust background in astrophysics, Harshil has held significant roles, including Co-Chair of the Leadership Team for ComSciCon and Chair of the Logistics Committee, where coordination of national conferences and management of substantial budgets were essential responsibilities. Previous experience includes being a DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellow at Harvard University, where Harshil developed advanced numerical simulations and machine learning models, as well as a Summer Practicum at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory focused on graph convolutional neural networks for solar energy research. Harshil earned a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics and a Master's degree in Computational Science & Engineering from Harvard University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
