Simon Grimm began their work experience in 2006 as a Civil Servant at the University Hospital Freiburg. Simon then worked as a Student Researcher at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where they characterized enantioselective biotransformation in continuous flow mode and published results in a scientific journal. Simon also worked as a Student Researcher at the University of Stuttgart and the University of Minnesota. Simon joined Insilico Biotechnology AG in 2015 as a Working Student and later became a Software Engineer.

Simon Grimm started their education at Gymnasium am Romäusring, Villingen-Schwenningen, where they earned an Abitur degree from 1998 to 2006. Simon then attended the University of Stuttgart from 2007 to 2015, where they obtained a Diploma degree in Technical Biology. In 2011, they briefly studied Economics at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Simon continued their education at FernUniversität in Hagen, first pursuing Business Informatics from 2015 to 2016, and then focusing on Computer Science from 2016 to 2022, where they earned a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, Simon obtained several certifications, including a MicroMasters in Artificial Intelligence from ColumbiaX on edX from 2019 to 2021. Simon also completed various nanodegree programs, such as Data Engineering and Data Streaming, from Udacity in 2020 and 2021. Furthermore, Simon obtained certifications in Animation and CGI Motion, as well as Robotics, from ColumbiaX on edX in 2021.
