Amy Abernethy is a changemaker in health care, having co-founded Highlander Health in April 2024 alongside Brad Hirsch. Amy has held significant roles throughout her career, including serving as the Principal Deputy Commissioner at the FDA from 2019 to 2021. An accomplished hematologist/oncologist and palliative medicine physician, Abernethy has authored over 500 publications. Additionally, Amy holds board positions in both public and private companies, including athenahealth and insitro, and is a member of the Duke University Board of Trustees.
