Walter R. Perkins

Walter R. Perkins has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Walter R. started their career in 1987 as an Associate Principal Scientist at The Liposome Company, Inc., where they worked for over 13 years. From 2001 to 2002, they served as a Principal Scientist at Elan. Walter R. then joined Transave in 2002, where they held various roles including Executive Director, Technology Development, Vice President of Research and Development, and Chief Technology Officer until 2010. In 2006, they also served as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Liposome Research. In 2009, they joined the Selection Committee for Jefferson Fellowship GSAS at the University of Virginia, a role they held until 2013. In the same year, they became the Chief Technology Officer at Insmed Incorporated, where they currently work.

Walter R. Perkins earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1982. Walter R. then went on to pursue further education and obtained a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from the same university in 1987.
