Dr. Tim Proffitt

Dr. Tim Proffitt is a seasoned information security professional with extensive experience in technology governance, risk, and compliance. Currently serving as Managing Director of Information Security at Insperity since December 1999, Proffitt has held various leadership roles, including Director of Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance, where responsibilities include ensuring IT security and risk management adhere to industry best practices. Proffitt also manages the Technology Security and Risk Compliance Team, overseeing security infrastructure and incident response. In addition to their role at Insperity, Proffitt is an Adjunct Professor at Lone Star College and serves as a SANS.edu Faculty Research Advisor, contributing to GIAC/SANS certification processes. Holding a Ph.D. in Management with a focus on Information Technology from Walden University, as well as a Master's degree in Information Security Management from SANS.EDU, Proffitt also possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Sam Houston State University.
