Jeffrey Thompson

Jeffrey Thompson has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Jeffrey'smost recent position is as the Director of Digital Solutions at Inspire Medical Systems, where they oversee a software PMO, digital product development, and cloud software operations. Prior to that, they worked at Abbott as a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, managing a software development team and driving technical directions for the EnSite Velocity/Precision software product line. Jeffrey also worked at Beckman Coulter as a Software Architect, and at Boston Scientific as a Fellow in Research and Development, where they led systems engineering projects and supervised teams. Additionally, Jeffrey has worked as a lecturer and research assistant at the University of Minnesota, a summer research associate at Medtronic, a summer student researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, and a consultant at Safeware Engineering. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in areas such as digital health, software engineering, molecular diagnostics, medical device systems, and model-based development.

Jeffrey Thompson has a strong educational background in computer science and management. Jeffrey began their academic journey at Michigan State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 1992 to 1996. Jeffrey then pursued further studies at the University of Minnesota, completing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 1996 to 1999. Continuing their education at the same institution, Jeffrey earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science between 1996 and 2002.

In 2004, Jeffrey attended the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, where they graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in General Management in 2008. Additionally, Jeffrey has obtained certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2008, they became a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute. More recently, in August 2018, Jeffrey gained certification as a Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance.
