Lisa Young Alston is a Program Associate at Inspiredu Atlanta since August 2021. Previously, Lisa held roles at Global Concessions, Inc., serving as an Executive Assistant and Human Resources Administrative Coordinator, providing administrative support and leading the new employee onboarding process from December 2015 to March 2020. Lisa has a strong background in community engagement, having volunteered with organizations such as Connecting for Good and Jackson County (MO) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated between April 1994 and April 2015. As a co-founder of an entrepreneurial venture from 2011 to 2013, Lisa demonstrated leadership and innovation. Prior experience at IBM from 1985 to 1994 involved systems engineering and design engineering for mainframe storage systems. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University.

Inspiredu, an educational non-profit in Georgia, was founded in 2020 due to a spinout from PowerMyLearning Greater Atlanta, a branch which was established in 2007. Inspiredu’s (formerly PowerMyLearning Greater Atlanta) mission is to help underserved youth develop the skills needed for education and career success through technology-based learning tools and engagement activities with their families, communities, and schools.
