George O’Neill

Board Member at Inspire

Dr George O'Neill has been at the forefront of significant medical initiatives in Northern Ireland for more than 40 years. He qualified in 1971 and is in partnership with five colleagues at the Springfield Road Surgery Belfast, a teaching practice that works with an extended multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centered care on a split site. His medical interests include improving mental health services, addressing life inequalities and developing a wellness service. Dr O'Neill was chair of the Belfast Local Commissioning Group for six years and is presently chair of Addiction NI, a community charity helping clients with alcohol and drug problems. He is a director of the West Belfast GP Federation and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and holds a masters degrees in Medical Ethics and Law, and Medical Education.
