Björn F. Steffl

Björn F. Steffl has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Björn F. started their career at Parker Hannifin, where they worked as an Accountant and later completed an apprenticeship as an Industriekaufmann. Björn F. then moved on to HeidelbergCement, where they completed an internship in Energy Trading and wrote their thesis on Emissions Trading.

Following this, Steffl joined Marquard & Bahls AG as a Management Trainee in Finance and later became the Finance Manager for Oiltanking Finance B.V. Björn F. then joined Voith Group, where they held various roles including Investment Controller and Director of Finance & Controlling for the P3/Voith Group.

Steffl then worked as the Director of Finance & Accounting Germany for VARO Energy, a joint venture involving Vitol S.A., The Carlyle Group, and Reggeborgh B.V. Björn F. subsequently joined FREE NOW, a New-Mobility-Tech-Joint-Venture of Mercedes-Benz and BMW Group, where they served as the Director of Finance. In this role, they were responsible for IFRS compliance, fast-close implementation, audit strategy, internal controls, and processes. Björn F. also played a key role in setting up new ventures' finance infrastructure in multiple countries and was involved in building a scalable process-driven digital accounting and finance organization.

Currently, Steffl is serving as the Head of Finance at instagrid.

Björn F. Steffl completed their education in a chronological order. In 1992, they attended Ellental Gymnasium, where they obtained their Allgemeine Hochschulreife (general qualification for university entrance) in 2001. Following this, from 2005 to 2009, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Diplom-Äquivalent in Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre at Hochschule Furtwangen. In 2007, Björn briefly attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, focusing on Finance & Accounting. Lastly, in 2017, they attended IMD for Leadership in Action.
