Brent Willems has over 20 years of experience in technical and UX writing. From 1999 to 2021, they have held various roles at different companies. In 1999, they were a Technical & UX Writer at PCT Automation Systems, where they created documentation libraries for industrial conveyor and assembly equipment used by printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturers. In 2000, they were a Technical Writer at Motorola, where they created documentation libraries for voice markup language (VoxML) products used by voice application developers. From 2002 to 2006, they were a Senior Technical & Communications Writer at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where they maintained documentation libraries in support of healthcare claims adjudication, systems architecture, and database management. From 2006 to 2010, they were a Lead Technical & UX Writer at Innoviant (now UnitedHealth Group), where they created documentation libraries for pharmacy claims adjudication, web portals. From 2010 to 2013, they were an IT Business Analyst & Project Manager at UnitedHealth Group. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Lead Technical Writer at Valence Health (now Evolent Health), where they created documentation libraries for web-based population health and value-based care products. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Senior Product Specialist at ExtendedCare, where they were the product expert and user advocate for a telehealth product suite and wrote the documentation library for the product. Currently, they are a Lead Technical & UX Writer at Instant Connect.

Brent Willems attended Illinois State University from 1997 to 1999, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
