Brenda Finney

Vice President Translational Science at Instem

Brenda Finney has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Brenda is currently working at Instem as the Vice President of Translational Science, a position they started in April 2023. Prior to this role, Brenda was the Director of Translational Science Solutions at Instem from August 2022 to April 2023. Brenda also worked as a Toxicology Consultant at Instem from January 2022 to August 2022. Before joining Instem, Brenda was the Head of Molecular Pathology at ProPath UK from October 2018 to December 2021. Brenda also served as the Principal Scientist at Sequani Limited from June 2013 to October 2018, where they were responsible for scientific leadership and enhancing scientific offerings. Brenda started their career at Cardiff University as a Research Assistant from September 2004 to December 2009 and later worked as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham from January 2010 to October 2013.

Brenda Finney completed their education in the field of Biomedical Sciences. Brenda obtained a Master of Research (MRes) degree from The University of Manchester in 2004. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Sciences from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, graduating in 2008. Brenda has also obtained several certifications, including "Introduction to Data Warehouses" in August 2023, "Learning Data Science: Understanding the Basics" in September 2022, and various LinkedIn courses on topics such as self-leadership, negotiation, diversity, and inclusion.
