David Miyabe

David Miyabe has a diverse range of work experience spanning over a decade. David is currently the Head of Design at Instil, where they have been working since 2020. Prior to this, David worked as a Professor at California State University, Long Beach starting in 2022. In 2021, they were a Design Fellow at On Deck. From 2017 to 2020, David served as the Associate Creative Director of UX at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles. At Second Spectrum, Inc., they held multiple roles including Senior User Experience Designer from 2017 to 2017 and Art Director from 2014 to 2017. Before that, they were the Global Design Manager at Liferay, Inc. from 2010 to 2014. David started their career as a Graphic Designer at Looking in 2009 and later worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Lakeshore Learning Materials from 2008 to 2009. David began their professional journey as a Graphic Designer at the CSULB career development center in 2007.

David Miyabe completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach, from 2002 to 2009. In 2012, they pursued a certificate in User Experience and Usability from California State University, Fullerton. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Design Kit from NovoEd in February 2016 and Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in June 2018.
