Hugo Condessa Barreto

Hugo Condessa Barreto is a distinguished researcher currently serving as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Institut Cochin since April 2023. Previously, Hugo completed a PhD in Integrative Biology and Biomedicine at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, where Hugo was a PhD student from January 2017 to March 2023. Earlier roles include Board Member at INIJOVEM - Associação para Iniciativas para a Juventude de Nisa, Research Fellow at the Microbial Development Lab at ITQB-UNL, and Research Technician at the Evolutionary Biology Group at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. Hugo also contributed to the Phage and Bacteria Molecular Biology Group at iMed.UL as a researcher. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Applied Microbiology and a Licentiate degree in Cell Biology and Biotechnology, both from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
